U.S. Abandons Idea of Bigger U.N. Role in Iraq Occupation: "U.S. Abandons Idea of Bigger U.N. Role in Iraq Occupation
By STEVEN R. WEISMAN with FELICITY BARRINGER

WASHINGTON, Aug. 13 — The Bush administration has abandoned the idea of giving the United Nations more of a role in the occupation of Iraq as sought by France, India and other countries as a condition for their participation in peacekeeping there, administration officials said today.
Instead, the officials said, the United States would widen its effort to enlist other countries to assist the occupation forces in Iraq, which are dominated by the 139,000 United States troops there......"

It is a sad day for programmers and QA engineers. I ask you to stop primate programming before it get out of control. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz sees it as a way for defense contractors to keep the fat, while trimming the costs of new military software use in the war on you know what.... Enlightenment what is it?: one view on enlightenment
"...The Shambhala Dictionary of Buddhism and Zen - gives the following definition. "The word Enlightenment is used to translate the Sanskrit term bodhi (literally awakened) and the Japanese satori. A person awakens to the nowness of emptiness which he himself is - even as the entire universe is emptiness - and which alone enables him to comprehend the true nature of things. Since enlightenment is repeatedly misunderstood as an experience of light and experiences of light wrongly understood as enlightenment, the term awakening is preferable, since it more accurately conveys the experience. The emptiness experienced here is no nihilistic emptiness, rather it is something unpreceivable, unthinkable, unfeelable, and endless beyond existence and nonexistence. Emptiness is no object that could be experienced by a subject, since the subject itself is dissolved in the emptiness."

The Shambhala Dictionary goes on to say, "The perfect enlightenment of Buddha is the beginning of the buddhadharma, i.e., that which is known as Buddhism. Buddhism is basically a religion of enlightenment, without this experience there would be no Buddhism....." from The Dyad Way page at

Here is the real deal on the West bank security wall as reported by oxfam GB Oxfam GB - Israeli security wall causes West Bank upheaval:
"....Construction of the wall is the latest Israeli step to fight suicide bombers and militants battling Israeli control over the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Likud and Labour, Israel’s two main political parties, both back the move and a June 2002 poll in Ma’ariv newspaper showed 69 percent of Israelis backing the plan.

But Palestinians are in uproar about its construction and estimate that 10 percent of West Bank land will be confiscated by the time it is completed. Spokesmen say that two percent of their land has already been appropriated to build the 120-km first phase in the northern part of the West Bank....

Variously known to Israelis as the Separation Wall, Security Wall or Terror Wall, work on the fence began last year. When completed, it will be an eight-metre high barrier in metal, concrete or barbed wire fence, backed by electronic sensors, razor wire, trenches and parallel security roads for the military....
[the wall] which is estimated to be three times as long and twice as high as the Berlin Wall. ....Some 20,000 people in 3,175 families will end up living on the eastern, Palestinian side of the wall but will have their land and livelihood on the other side."

sad to say the human race....is a race into iniquity.... lets alter course, yes?

CIA Probe Points to the Pentagon's Office of Special Plans: "The Pentagon's War Machine
CIA Probe Points to the Office of Special Plans
By JASON LEOPOLD jasonleopold@hotmail.com
A half-dozen former CIA agents investigating prewar intelligence have found that a secret Pentagon committee, set up by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in October 2001, manipulated reams of intelligence information prepared by the spy agency on the so-called Iraqi threat and then delivered it to top White House officials who used it to win support for a war in Iraq." follow link to read more of this great story....

F.C.C. Media Rule Blocked in House in a 400-to-21 Vote: "WASHINGTON, July 23 — The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed legislation today to block a new rule supported by the Bush administration that would permit the nation's largest television networks to grow bigger by owning more stations.
The vote, which was 400 to 21, sets the stage for a rare confrontation between the Republican-controlled Congress and the White House, because there is strong support in the Senate for similar measures, which seek to roll back last month's decision by the Federal Communications ...." "** IRS Makes Database of Political Organizations Available

The Internal Revenue Service has created the
Political Organization Filing and Disclosure Website
At this site you can both file Form 8871, Political
Organization Notice of Section 527 Status, and Form 8872,
Political Organization Report of Contributions and
Expenditures, and search for the same two forms.

The form search interface is available at the Search
Political Organization Disclosures link. There you can
search either form as well as search by organization name,
EIN, or date range.

A search for 'caucus' found 98 results. The results page is
in alphabetical order and includes organization name and
EIN. Click on the name and you'll get an org page with some
basic contact information about the organization as well as
access to their filings. Some orgs I looked at had lots of
filings available (both scanned paper and electronic copies)
while some had only a few. "

idiots in power:

Democratic Senator Guy W Glodis has angered Muslims and a civil rights group by a flier he circulated saying terrorist attacks could be deterred if convicted Muslim extremists were buried with pig entrails.

The Boston Globe said the flier, which Glodis sent to 39 colleagues Wednesday, said an execution of Muslim extremists in the Philippines was ordered by General John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing before World War I, in which they were shot with bullets dipped in pigs' blood, then buried with "pigs' blood, entrails".
